William Henry Gates was born in Seattle in 1955. He is known to the world as one of the wealthiest individuals, who has built his fortune through his own capabilities.

His success did not come easily. He faced significant challenges in school related to discipline and several other subjects, which he considered very ordinary. His school years led him to a psychologist due to behavioral issues.

In his memoirs, he explained this with his obsession with computers, spending all his free time on programming, dedicating 20-30 hours a week in the computer lab. Once, they tried to restrict his access to the computer with a password, which he managed to break. As a punishment, he spent the entire summer without a computer.

His failures followed him to Harvard, where he dropped out during his second year. Every cloud has a silver lining. He started dedicating more time to programming. Two years later, the Microsoft company was founded.

Two decades later, Bill Gates has invested more than 50 billion dollars, employing over 78,000 people in 105 countries around the world.

Here are the rules of success that Bill Gates has developed for himself.

  1. Study your competitors. Gates made it a morning ritual to visit his competitors' websites.

  1. Be resilient. The main characteristic of a manager is to accept even the worst news with grace. Stay cool, in that case, any problem will be solved faster. First, try to learn the bad news, then only the good ones.

  1. Be network-oriented. The future belongs to it. In the coming years, only two types of companies will remain: those that are on the network and those that have stopped doing business.

  1. Don't make success a distraction. It is deceptive and temporary. Upon reaching a goal, don't sit in place, immediately start working towards the next goal. Competitors are not sitting idle.

  1. Create conditions for development. The goal of a good leader is to create a favorable environment for his employees. They respond with reciprocity.

  1. Start today. If something doesn't work out at work, start your own business. Bill Gates started his business in a garage. Spend time only on what really interests you.

  1. Think. A few times a year, cut yourself off
